SUPPORT CHC

Over the past 30 years, Connecticut Humanities Council has created and funded thousands of cultural experiences for the people of Connecticut: we sponsor book discussions for people of all ages in your local library; fund exhibitions and other programs in your historical society or museum; we're in your neighborhood community center showing young parents how books can improve the lives of their children.

You won't find our name on billboards but it's in almost every library and museum in Connecticut.and many schools, too. Behind our name are donors throughout the state who support our work because they believe passionately in what we do. Whether you're one of our many loyal supporters or making a first time donation, please take this opportunity to join them this year with a tax deductible gift to the Council's Annual Fund.

This year, with your help, we will:

  • Provide over $800,000 in grants to historical societies and museums to create exhibitions, talks, cultural festivals and other programs that explore Connecticut's rich history.
  • Bring books and reading into the lives of hundreds of Connecticut's low income parents and children through our Motheread family literacy program.
  • Help teachers find creative ways to keep history, social studies and civics a vital part of our school's increasingly skills-based curricula.
  • Sponsor over 200 book discussions for children, families and adults in libraries, boys and girls clubs and schools throughout the state.

To make a donation, use our secure online donation page or print a gift form.
